With the confirmed upturn in the Japanese economy, and a rise in interest rates by its central bank (however slight by U S measure) there appears to be focus on AFLAC participation in that economy (still its main source of income, and principal body of assets - in Yen).  D isclosure: Writer hass held these shares as about 9% of real $$ tax sheltered portfolio. Information available on issuers website: www.packagingcorp.com/ Product - Boxboard & corrugated containers, etc. IPO in 2000 @$12; now $25+ and continuing to rise. Originally bot for high dividendto price ratio. Great cash flow. Rated 2 timeliness by Valu Line; Buy by Argus. Vigilence!!!

 Writer has been "in and out of" UFPI and currently holds small amount (in portfolio proportions) in real $$ accounts. ValueLine (see previous blog) rates this as #5 (seriously underperform) Biz is related to homebuilding supplies (manufactured, stick built, DYI, etc) all "in decline[?]" But, stock just (2/14) had topside breakout on point and figure (meaning demand is greater than supply (for the shares). Could be short covering,but other indicators don't appear to confirm that. Here...
